One was the same as wiggling off the TU, and as I was pulling the flash with one hand, at some point the camera shot away from the other and hit the floor on its base and did a half roll with the lens cap absorbing the only scrape. The camera seems fine. Â The second method requires a little downward pressure on the flash, and then it slides easily off. How would have thought!! Don't tell her, but to ensure I could file/sand the rails precisely without damaging the finish on any other portion of the ThumbsUp, I commandeered one of my wife's emery boards. After reading this thread I am a little concerned about continuing this on my new m9. I can see where it is possible that this device may not be "for this camera". On the issue of removing it, I have used a wood cuticle stick and pushed a bit. The wood won't scratch the TU finish. The dental floss idea is good too. I have tried the Leica Hand Grip and find it a bit uncomfortable when shooting, but really comfortable when just carrying the camera around between shots . Dannybuoy Posted March 13, 2011 Share #26 Â Posted March 13, 2011 I had the same problem. It was stuck in the mount. I used a small flat head screwdriver to lever it way from the body a little. I got a small dent in the paint but that's fine, M9s are meant to carry a few battle scars plus I'm not precious about it getting a little roughed up in the persuit of happyness. Mine new was very tight too. Also I fond that one needs to insure the set screw is REALLY loose and clear of the hot show bottom as I have made this mistake myself by not backing off the set-screw enough. Cheers. pragmatist Posted March 30, 2012 Share #34 Â Posted March 30, 2012 I'm one of the lucky ones as i found my M9 ok to use without any thumbs up devices, Just have the Artisan cord around my wrist just in case but other than that find it a comfy camera to use, I must have grippy paw pads!!!
