barista7105 Posted May 2, 2010 Share #1 Posted May 2, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi.... I'm a new Leica user and currently I'm using M8+Carl Zeiss 35mm f/2, which is uncoded lens. I heard that we could choose lens focal length that has been predefined for Leica lenses to be used in non-Leica lens to minimize vignette and to have EXIF data, however I can not find the menu/options to choose the lens. Is it true M8 have the menu to choose the lens as decribed above? If yes, how to access the menu? Thank you,

luigi bertolotti Posted May 2, 2010 Share #3 Posted May 2, 2010 Impossible: the menu is on M9 only, despite many hope that a firmware update could bring this option to M8 too...

I just made it on some thin card. Then code your lens with sharpy felt tip using this link to give guidance. Only takes a few minutes and works well. These guys have made life simple for us and I for one am extremely grateful. Cheers Mike
