stubenhocker Posted May 2, 2010 Share #1 Posted May 2, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) It looks weird but it works! Silly me, I've been thinking of a flash for the Dlux-4, but I had two Oly compatible flashes in my bag and they both work! I love this interchangeability! Welcome, dear visitor! flappo Posted May 2, 2010 Share #2 Posted May 2, 2010 doesn't it rather defeat the purpose of a tiny hand held camera ? the sheer 'invisibility' of the d4 is my favourite asset of the camera tbh ( apart from the red dot of course )
LuxBob Posted May 2, 2010 Share #3 Posted May 2, 2010 Just going OT, how well does the diffuser work?

stubenhocker Posted May 2, 2010 Author Share #5 Posted May 2, 2010 doesn't it rather defeat the purpose of a tiny hand held camera ? the sheer 'invisibility' of the d4 is my favourite asset of the camera tbh ( apart from the red dot of course ) Once the flash is disassembled, it stows easily in a very small bag with the DLux4 and gives you a much more expanded ability to capture some scenes that wouldn't have been the case with on camera and even optional Leica flash. If you're into stealth, I would agree with you that this combo is nonsense, but if you are into quality with a small kit, this works well, at least for me. mallo Posted May 5, 2010 Share #7 Posted May 5, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hahaha! Great! I used to take night-life shots in a club with the Lumix LX3, and I had a similar experiment putting the old Olympus T20 flash on it. The results were stunning!! I used to shot jpegs fine and that time I didn't do post-processing, it was wonderfull, colors, light.. everything great! unfortunately after something like 100 shots the combo stopped to work well, all the images came out terribly overexposed, I don't why.. Maybe if the battery level of the flash begin to be low it stops to work well? Unfortunately I cannot do the experiment again because my beloved LX3 was stolen.. Apart from kidding Stubenhocker, if it works and you're happy with it why bothering yourself? Bruno
