wda Posted April 24, 2010 Share #5 Posted April 24, 2010 Paul, thank you for starting this seasonal thread. Bluebonnets is clearly an American term for what we might call wild lupins. A fine spread and a real test for a small camera. Here is a shot taken of an old wild cherry tree (prunus avium) in my garden very recently. It is not quite fully in flower but it is always a lovely sight. In a few weeks time the birds will feast on the small cherries and deposit seeds all over the garden! An interesting side note; I heard a radio news item in England very recently that a survey is being conducted of this wild tree which suggests that it might be diminishing as a result of farming practices.
