mattwardle Posted April 23, 2010 Share #1 Posted April 23, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) Ive had a rather a bad week. Firstly my M8 'deleted' a mornings worth of images while on vacation in istanbul. Then to my horror, later in the week I lifted the camera out of my bag, to find a large crack across the LCD screen. The screen is now 'white blank' with cracks all across it. My M8 is less than a year old, and still under passport. Does anyone know if it will be covered by leica, and secondly ( and more importantly if it not covered) has anyone had to replace their screen and have an estimation on how much it will cost? Thanks Matt
Advertisement Posted April 23, 2010 Posted April 23, 2010 Hi mattwardle, Take a look here Smashed LCD Screen on M8. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
jaapv Posted April 23, 2010 Share #2 Posted April 23, 2010 If it is under passport this will certainly be covered imo. So my estimation of the cost will be zero. You could maybe strike a deal with Leica to have the screen upgraded to quarz, seeing they have to replace it anyway, but that will take some bargaining power. mattwardle Posted April 23, 2010 Author Share #3 Posted April 23, 2010 Thanks Jaap, I would certainly pay the extra if it made a real difference to the longevity. For now, 'Ive dusted of my M6 and loving the analogue!
