likalar Posted April 23, 2010 Share #1 Posted April 23, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) In December I downloaded LR 2.6 to my older IMac for my M9. Horrible purple fringing resulted around highlight areas of the DNG raw files. A user of this forum suggested the older pre-Intel Mac was incompatible, and suggested I dnld the older 2.5 LR. Voila! no more fringes. Now I just downloaded LR 2.7, and happy to report that this latest version is, so far, compatible with my Mac. No purple fringing! My apologies if this is in the wrong forum. Alnitak Posted April 27, 2010 Share #3 Posted April 27, 2010 Hi, There was a LR 2.6.1 just to accomodate the M9. Happy LR 2.7 works for you too. Has an inproved RAW developer. Eric I believe the OP is referring to a bug with Adobe ACR that affected both LR and PS. It was only on the PowerPC Macs and had nothing to do with the M9. Adobe actually fixed the bug pretty quickly, but the OP must have missed the patch. As for LR 2.7 there are no improvements to the raw engine in ACR; all ACR 5.7 did was add camera support for some new cameras. The improved raw engine is in CS5 and will be in LR 3. You csn try it out by downloading the free LR 3 beta 2 from labs.adobe.com. It is a huge improvement for any camera raw files; in my estimate it reduces noise by about one stop, especially chroma noise. Jeff
