Angel Moroni alone, and in a surreal composition (2 images)

On Santa Monica Boulevard in Los Angeles is The California Temple, which is the tenth temple build by the LDS. Its tower has a statue of the angel Moroni. I dare not tell you who I thought the statue was of when I saw it the first time about 20 years ago. I included both shots since they create a different feel, with the strange impact of the black silhouettes and shadows in #2.

Interesting pictures. It looks like you had your fingers in front of the lens in the second picture.

Thank you. Actually I shot this either from the back seat of our friends car, or as a quick shot while at a stop light when I was driving. The "three fingers" are the long visors at the side of a traffic light to prevent cross traffic from knowing when the light would change. I had never seen traffic light visors this size before.

I'll have to try that some day. I pass by it at least once a week.

I like the shadows of the palm trees (my favorite palm) on the building in the second. The black "fingers" overwhelm the image a bit. Still, I like the shadows in the golden light.
