Uh oh... clicking sounds inside my X1 body

Took the X1 out today for shooting. I noticed toward the end that light intervals of metallic clicking sounds were coming out of the body. The lens was not moving, shutter button not depressed, etc. It happens in all focus modes. It is not read time or flash or exposure mode, or any other setting troubleshoot I could find.

I know it is hard to write what something sounds like. Best way to describe it is a metallic fluttering sound that lasts a few seconds than stops and starts again randomly, especially after taking a shot. Again, the lens is not moving or trying to auto-focus. The sound is completely different anyway.

I have turned the camera on and off to see if that would work. No dice. Seems to be coming from inside the body to the right of lens under the flash.

Any ideas on what it may be? Bummer... was just starting to really use it. Rest assured, Leica will be hearing from me shortly for a new replacement.

CORRECTION: I noticed the clicks were happening as light changed...thus held the lens under a light - and as you would expect, it is the aperture blades trying to adjust open and close - sluggish, noisy, and unacceptable.

Anyone know what this may be happening? Anger is building.
