brill64 Posted April 17, 2010 Share #1 Posted April 17, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) is it possible to check online with leica or whoever whether the serial number of the m8.2 i am buying is registered already? it has no warranty card or purchase receipt but it's boxed and in mint condition with test certificates. i want to check if it has any warranty left and whether i can use it if i need to. also, is it possible to check whether the capture 1 software cd bundled with it is still usable? khiromu Posted April 17, 2010 Share #3 Posted April 17, 2010 Or, you can type in the serial number online. If the serial is already registered, then the website will tell you so. But otherwise, it means you are registering that particular serial number, though...

delander † Posted April 19, 2010 Share #5 Posted April 19, 2010 Just a thought about Capture 1. When I sold my M8 (to a dealer in part ex for an M9) I de-activated and uninstalled my copy of Capture 1 and then asked Phaseone how I could ensure that any new owner could use the disk that came with the camera. The reply from Phaseone was that the copy of Capture 1 was mine and could not be transferred to the new owner. Of course I no longer have the disk and the new owner evidently cant use it. This seemed totally wrong to me but I ended up buying a new copy of Capture 1. Jeff
jaapv Posted April 19, 2010 Share #6 Posted April 19, 2010 It does not really matter, as the software is an old version of Capture One, and the new version 5.1 is a far better program. I don't even think the old version can be downloaded from Phase One any more.
