elansprint72 Posted December 21, 2006 Share #1 Posted December 21, 2006 Advertisement (gone after registration) It has been suggested that after the "Famous Five go mad in Manchester" we should have a follow-up event early in the New Year in Chester, followed by another in Liverpool in the Spring. Can I have an "in-principle" show of hands? We'll throw up some possible dates soon, it will probably be on a Sunday. Condiments of the season, Pete. Advertisement Posted December 21, 2006 Posted December 21, 2006 Hi elansprint72, Take a look here NW England meeting?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Rolo Posted December 21, 2006 Share #2 Posted December 21, 2006 Does this suggestion counter this evenings suggestion to repeat the Famous Five Cake Eaters Meet in Manchester over the holiday break ? Or, is it in addition to that ? Can't make Sunday, New Year's Eve as I'm on wedding duty.

andybarton Posted December 22, 2006 Share #4 Posted December 22, 2006 In addition........but, but.....which cake-eating suggestion, where? It was here: http://www.leica-camera-user.com/customer-forum/11925-scanning-services-manchester.html#post124493 You have to read film related posts once in a while Pete I might be a bit pushed for time between now and the New Year, especially as I have to drive everywhere at 29mph, now... The "Horseman Riding By" ( http://www.leica-camera-user.com/landscape-travel/11172-horseman-riding-pt.html ) shot has proven to be very expensive Q: "What do points make?" A: "Prizes!" and a vow never to darken the Chief Constable of North Wales's doorstep again... (They are charging you if you stray just 10 mph over the speed limit now. I am not talking 30 or 40 mph zones by the way, where excess speed is stupid, but in 50s and 60s. On open country dual carriageways. There is no excuse for me breaking the speed limit, but the cameras are no longer set to "stun". Take my misfortune as a warning) Sometime in January would be better for me. Rolo Posted December 22, 2006 Share #5 Posted December 22, 2006 and a vow never to darken the Chief Constable of North Wales's doorstep again... Last year, I led a team of 8 bikers down the A5 fromBetws to Cerrig and across to Bala. That very nice Chief Cunstable you refer to joined us with helicopter cover. Fortunately, I immediately spotted his inability to keep up and kept within two miles ph of the speed limit to enjoy his company. The Golden Rule for speed control is add 3 mph plus 10%, or get nicked. 10 mph is much to liberal to avoid prizes. If the sign says 30 mph it means 30 mph, any additional leeway, even 1 mph, is at the discretion of that man in blue with bright buttons. If you've got 12 points on your 'temporary permit to drive', stick with the sign. You may now understand why I wear a helmet all the time.

elansprint72 Posted January 3, 2007 Author Share #9 Posted January 3, 2007 So... I reckon that's the Secret Seven up for this one; how does Sunday 28th January sound? Meet somewhere in Chester centre say 9:30 to 10:00, shoot some locals, lunch in Albion..... http://http://www.albioninnchester.co.uk/albion.htm Shoot some blurred stuff, go home. Liverpool is proposed as the following venue; any thoughts on where to go next? Please suggest alternative dates if 28th is no good. Cheers, Pete. stunsworth Posted January 3, 2007 Share #10 Posted January 3, 2007 Pete, the 28th is ok by me. Just make sure the meeting place is easy to find - I don't know Chester that well. Perhaps in front of the Cathedral?

andybarton Posted January 7, 2007 Share #17 Posted January 7, 2007 We should meet under the city wall bridge with the clock. The cathedral has too many entrances... 9:30? Parking is horribly expensive, but the park and ride at the zoo is very good. Easy to find too. The bridge is 30 seconds walk from where the p&r bus drops you off. Can't miss it. It's at the red blob, btw, on Eastgate Street. The bus drops you off at the end of Frodsham Street. Welcome, dear visitor!
