swamiji Posted April 16, 2010 Share #1 Posted April 16, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) I have an older Focoslide and have purchased a IIIg for it, only to find it does not fit. After finding a manual, it mentions that the IIIg has it's own focoslide. I hate to return the IIIg as it's in perfect condition and a dream to shoot with. So the question is there any other limitations to this old Focoslide other than not working on the IIIg. Like it not working on a IIIf either? P.S. I also have a Focoslide-M for my M7/M9... but thats a different story.

luigi bertolotti Posted April 16, 2010 Share #2 Posted April 16, 2010 The "pre IIIG" Focoslide (main code ought to be OOZMY) was stated in Leitz instructions as for "all cameras up to IIIf" , so... buy a IIIf !!! It's the nicest of the classics, imho...
tobey bilek Posted April 16, 2010 Share #3 Posted April 16, 2010 Can you not modify the focoslide to work with the 111G with a bit of creative maching/filing? It is not like you are damaging some pristine collector piece. That or just find a 111f or earlier for that application.
swamiji Posted April 17, 2010 Author Share #4 Posted April 17, 2010 Thanks for the info. Checked out the IIIf, but found a good beater IIIa for a bargain. The way the Focoslide attaches to the body, seems to do some superficial damage, so better not to go for a pristine model. Viewfinder/Rangefinder was clear, and the mechanics were sound. It will be attached to the Focoslide, pretty much full time anyway.
