Jamie Roberts Posted April 10, 2010 Share #21 Posted April 10, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) Jamie, {snipped}the 28mm Emarit; the 35mm Lux are spot on at around 2m distance, the 90mm Cron has from focus. The infinite test shows that the 28 and the 90 are off and the 35 is spot on. It is a strange combination of error and as I said different from my M8. I always wonder if it is worth to go through the adjustment of the M9 myself or send it in. {snipped} Hi Uwe! If the 28 Elmarit and 90 are off for infinity focus, then once again I'd suspect an adjustment to the RF is in order. The 35 Lux probably won't suffer practically, but you may notice the focus shift that lens actually has more than you did before... If the shop is good I'd send it in... Here in Canada we have Kindermann in Markam and Gerry Smith, who is superb at doing this stuff. Of course, if you have the 2 or 3 hours to kill and the patience... esquire53 Posted April 10, 2010 Share #22 Posted April 10, 2010 Hi Jamie. Maybe I should have taken the allen key with me and tried the adjustment. I don't know the Leica Store in Paris, it is a new location. The old one was nice, but the person in charge was strange and when I wanted to buy the 75mm Cron, he didn't wanted to do it, so I never went back. Anyway, I'll give it a try next weekend. Cheers Uwe
JWW Posted April 11, 2010 Share #23 Posted April 11, 2010 Just received my Nocti .95 yesterday and to make it work together with the 50 ASPH lux that I already had, I just nudged (I don't think I actually felt it move) the allen adjust and that moved the focus point of the M9 RF enough (just needed a few inches) that both the Nocti and the lux were within the DOF. I did this a couple years ago this with the M8 so was pretty comfortable with it. I believe with all the old and new lenses mixed in with the tolerance factors and using razor thin DOF lenses like the Noctilux or 75lux that this will need to be done either to send in the kit to someone or trying the tweak yourself.
