howard01 Posted April 5, 2010 Share #1 Posted April 5, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi there. I have a D2 which has got a wobble on the lens. It seems to be just a little loose where it meets the camera body, and this ain't going to get better on it's own. Would I be better to send it to Milton Keynes or Solms? Als this is a no.3 series so has not had the sensor replaced.

Als this is a no.3 series so has not had the sensor replaced. So I am located in Germany and I know the CS here is fantastic. They will change the sensor for free and of course for a fair price they will fix your wobble problem. Depends on the shipping costs and custom fee(?) howard01 Posted April 6, 2010 Author Share #3 Posted April 6, 2010 That's what I have seen on this forum and wanted to know if the same level of service applies to Milton Keynes. I don't think customs are a problem as I am in the UK.
nigelb Posted April 6, 2010 Share #4 Posted April 6, 2010 As far as I'm aware (heard), service from Milton Keynes is very good, though I've not had to test that theory yet. No wobble at all on my Leica and Lumix examples, you sure its not just normal looseness of the aperture ring, or has it been getting worse? howard01 Posted April 6, 2010 Author Share #5 Posted April 6, 2010 No it's been getting worse. I can now just see some of the pins inside so need to get it repaired. Milton keynes sounds ok, I'll give them a go. Anybody know how much for a service on a D2?
andybarton Posted April 6, 2010 Share #6 Posted April 6, 2010 MK will probably send it to Solms anyway, so you might as well just send it to them. If you call them (Solms) they will be able to advise you.
wda Posted April 6, 2010 Share #7 Posted April 6, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) It is probably cheaper to send it to MK who will send it to Solms. They handled my D2 when the sensor failed. Their own repair facility is very limited these days. I think it is worth supporting MK before we lose a UK distributor completely!
