elansprint72 Posted December 20, 2006 Share #1 Posted December 20, 2006 Advertisement (gone after registration) Just playing about with the macro setting on the V-Lux and my early present to myself! Wish I could find my mini tripod. Cheers, Pete
Advertisement Posted December 20, 2006 Posted December 20, 2006 Hi elansprint72, Take a look here Christmas came early!. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
luciz Posted December 20, 2006 Share #2 Posted December 20, 2006 Ah, one of my preferred swatches. I owned also an Old Navitimer with manual charge that I sold some years ago. Now the everyday swatch is a more less fascinating but more practical Navitimer quartz. Ciao Luciano
abrewer Posted December 20, 2006 Share #3 Posted December 20, 2006 My, my, my...... Father Christmas is feeling generous this year, is he not? Nice watch, nice shot Pete. Thanks. Allan
blovitch Posted December 20, 2006 Share #4 Posted December 20, 2006 I have a soft spot for Breitlings. Last year I bought a new edition of the Chrono-matic, a reissue of a 1969 Navitimer - Lovely... I was going to photograph it the other day when I was messing around with the M cameras.... http://www.leica-camera-user.com/other/11807-bye-bye-m8s.html Thanks for the inspiration, I might just do some watch shots.. Enjoy the watch.... Cheers. -Tim
andybarton Posted December 20, 2006 Share #5 Posted December 20, 2006 Have you checked the WB, Pete?
elansprint72 Posted December 21, 2006 Author Share #6 Posted December 21, 2006 Do Breitling have WB adjustment? Damn, they're good.
stuny Posted December 21, 2006 Share #7 Posted December 21, 2006 Advertisement (gone after registration) Pete - Your V-Lux is capable of really nice macro, and of course I'm among those who envy your watch. Careful, though. If too many of our moderators see this they'll begin investigating why you didn't put that money into more Leica kit. BTW: I think this needs to be a touch darker and/or a touch higher contrast.
abrewer Posted December 21, 2006 Share #8 Posted December 21, 2006 Pete gets a pass because I've seen the state of the interior in his home... Do you remember that shot Pete? Thanks. Allan
elansprint72 Posted December 21, 2006 Author Share #9 Posted December 21, 2006 Thanks guys! Allan, Mrs T has made me clear up the house, it looks almost habitable now. Below is my fun ticker. Both these shots were hand held and I suspect there is just a tiny amount of shake in them (mini-tripod lost in house tidy ), the lighting is from halogen spots in the ceiling of our kitchen and I left white balance on auto. The glass in that Breitling is sort of yellow, so that scale around the case has come out pretty much right, although you might expect it to be white. This V-Lux1 seems to be a very capable and versatile camera, I have no doubt that when a few decent photographers get hold of them we'll see some excellent shots here. Please V-Lux1 owners post your shots, good or bad, let's see what this thing can/can't do, while the magenta boys are wailing and gnashing their teeth over on the digital forum. Cheers, Pete.
