Fotomiguel Posted April 3, 2010 Share #21 Posted April 3, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) I don't own the 35 lux, but I'm already saving money for one lens. The new 35 lux may be my next new leica lens.
Advertisement Posted April 3, 2010 Posted April 3, 2010 Hi Fotomiguel, Take a look here New 35 lux?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Jose_Salcedo Posted April 5, 2010 Share #22 Posted April 5, 2010 I was told so by Leica customer service in Solms months ago already. So, I guess it's safe to assume a new 35 Lux is more than a rumor. -- Markus Yes, it is coming out soon.
Shade Posted April 5, 2010 Share #23 Posted April 5, 2010 Any guess on estimated price? I'm pretty certain it will be well above the current lux ASPH.
swamiji Posted April 5, 2010 Share #24 Posted April 5, 2010 Yes, it is coming out soon. I was told to me by my dealer, in front of our Leica Rep. NO NEW M LENSES THIS YEAR. The Leica rep just nodded in approval.
mat_mcdermott Posted April 5, 2010 Share #25 Posted April 5, 2010 That's hardly conclusive. In front of the Rep do you think any dealer is going to tell you about unreleased products, even ones heavily rumored to be happening?
swamiji Posted April 5, 2010 Share #26 Posted April 5, 2010 That's hardly conclusive. In front of the Rep do you think any dealer is going to tell you about unreleased products, even ones heavily rumored to be happening? Yes. He also repeated it in private. I am pretty sure He is telling the facts as he knows it. He told me about the M9 months before the release. So far his word has been 100%.
mat_mcdermott Posted April 5, 2010 Share #27 Posted April 5, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) Well, that's unfortunate then...
adli Posted April 5, 2010 Share #28 Posted April 5, 2010 Funny, the Norwegian Leica importer told me it was comming soon.
Clandrel Posted April 5, 2010 Share #29 Posted April 5, 2010 Same here. The Norwegian dealer said may!
swamiji Posted April 5, 2010 Share #30 Posted April 5, 2010 Maybe, it's the difference between; "Will it be announced this year" vs. "Will it ship this year". I know my dealer in keen on actual ship dates, especially with Leica. So maybe we are both correct. Again "Your milage may vary".
snaggs Posted April 6, 2010 Share #31 Posted April 6, 2010 My dealer has seen it, there are a couple of select people walking around with them as testers, one of them came into his store whilst on holiday to Australia. Daniel.
swamiji Posted April 6, 2010 Share #32 Posted April 6, 2010 Still, seeing it and having one for sale are two different things. It just means something will happen some day. This appears to be the new marketing.
JWW Posted April 6, 2010 Share #33 Posted April 6, 2010 Lesson from the M9 situation: if you're remotely interested in it, then get on a waiting list. If you like it if and when it comes out, buy it otherwise don't. If you wait, you could be way back in line.
swamiji Posted April 6, 2010 Share #34 Posted April 6, 2010 Lesson from the M9 situation: if you're remotely interested in it, then get on a waiting list. If you like it if and when it comes out, buy it otherwise don't. If you wait, you could be way back in line. Not just the M9. The Nocti .95, Lux 24mm, Lux 21mm. All were testing on the street a year or more before the actual shipping. And 6 or more months before the anouncement. So if you have a dealer who is taking names, get on the list now. Even if it is a 9 months to a year before your dealer sees one, at least you'll get one of the first. As an example I got the first 24mm Lux my dealer received, about six months after the announcement. It was three months before they saw another one. Now they have a ready stock. sclamb Posted April 6, 2010 Share #35 Posted April 6, 2010 I went to my AD as soon as I heard about the new 35 and was told I was second on the list! Some people are sooo quick off the mark. Simon
Freedolin Posted April 6, 2010 Share #36 Posted April 6, 2010 Yes, that's the (still) current lens. -- Markus
sclamb Posted April 6, 2010 Share #37 Posted April 6, 2010 If it was the "old" 35 1.4 then this thread would probably be entitled 'Old 35 lux?'. Probably best to assume we all mean the "new" 35 1.4 which is still not confirmed by Leica but is confirmed by many dealers. Simon
thrice Posted April 6, 2010 Share #38 Posted April 6, 2010 I think you misread his post Simon, he's referring to the technical data PDF on the Leica website, which of course still pertains to the "first" 35 lux asph.
sclamb Posted April 7, 2010 Share #39 Posted April 7, 2010 Ah yes - sorry. The current MTF is for the current 35/1.4. Hoping the new one will be at least as good :-) Simon
