I changed to the new firmware before this, but don't know if it has any importance. Shall try another SD card but as it is so seldom it's difficult to see any result. Maybe just wait and see if it occurs again?
k-hawinkler Posted April 2, 2010 Share #7 Posted April 2, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) Erik, As you know, intermittent errors are always the hardest to track down until they become permanent. pop Posted April 2, 2010 Share #8 Posted April 2, 2010 Erik, those look like there was a mismatch between the directory (the "housekeeping") and the location of the actual image data on your card. One - but probably not the only - cause could be that the card was removed from either the camera or the PC while it was still being written to. The same effect can be achieved by a sudden drop in power in either the camera or the PC. Before using that particular card again for anything at all I would completely re-format it (slow and complete format, in the PC).

Good luck, one way or the other, K-H. I know! Think I shall stop thinking of it, maybe I shall never see it again Curious if no one has seen same? Anyway thanks for your help. frc Posted April 2, 2010 Share #10 Posted April 2, 2010 Got one to. Only a test shot.On a temporary loaner until I get my own cam. If this happens at the "you may kiss the bride" moment I do not know how I'd explain it to the customer. As a modern art interpretation of the moment perhaps? ho_co Posted April 3, 2010 Share #11 Posted April 3, 2010 Erik, I'd at least send Leica a copy of the messed-up file (or the jpg). It may be something they can explain, but it may be something they need to know about.

andreaffm Posted April 3, 2010 Share #13 Posted April 3, 2010 Erik, I just had the exactly same thing today – for the first time. It was also the first time I used a different SD card from the one my Leica dealer gave me, an AGFA Card instead of my usual SanDisk. I guessed if I switched back to my usual card I won't see any more of this strange cubism. Could it be you also used a different card? Geoff Morgan Posted April 4, 2010 Share #17 Posted April 4, 2010 Had the same thing on one DNG file. I did notice that it was sitting next to a DNG copy of the same file. Don't know whether that was significant? Deleted the offending file!
