stuny Posted December 20, 2006 Share #3 Posted December 20, 2006 robert - Astonishingly good: Light, color, detail and framing. I'll bet it would be even a touch better with the out of focus item in the lower right cropped out.
MrEd Posted December 20, 2006 Share #4 Posted December 20, 2006 Hi Robert, Very strong colors, Very proud bird, likes to pose! Thanks for sharing. Ed. .
imported_peter_m Posted December 20, 2006 Share #5 Posted December 20, 2006 Very nice detail and color Robert! I agree with Stuart cropping out the item on the right bottom would look better. That guy must be somewhat tame, I tried having some pheasants around my place but they where so flighty after I turned them loose you couldn't get close to them anymore. Over time they all disappeared, probably ended up dinner for owls and coyotes. Peter
albert Posted December 20, 2006 Share #6 Posted December 20, 2006 Robert, Is this really the same Phillip ? He is as handsome as ever. I grew up in South Dakota, where the pheasant is the state bird. Great Photo......Al
leicamann Posted December 20, 2006 Share #7 Posted December 20, 2006 Advertisement (gone after registration) Robert..very nicely done. Crisp , clear and a good use of the cropping to achieve a very simple graphic..one of your very best. Now save, and print. Thanks for sharing Regards, Leicamann:)
Peter41951 Posted December 20, 2006 Share #8 Posted December 20, 2006 Handsome bird. I wonder whether he finds the Famous Grouse ads currently running on UK TV as amusing as I do? Great photo, thanks!
phillippheasant Posted December 22, 2006 Share #9 Posted December 22, 2006 Hello Everybody !! Robert's out doing his working imitation right now, so as a founder member of the FIA (Fieldbirds with Internet Access) I thought I better step in to thank you for your kind comments !! Stuart - I took care of the oof item this afternoon (having eaten it) Al - yes, it's really me, as handsome as ever !! Ed - I cartainly am a bit of a poser - I walk into Robert's garden and receive my 'fee' of peanuts, then he's allowed to take a few snaps with that strange big box he has (it's the one without the banding) Peter M - Glad to see you're imported - several of my relatives have been imported to various places and really like it - it's not so much that I'm tame, it's that I've no special reason to be worried about the people in the gardens or the guy with the camera who feeds me - not unless he gets a Digital M, that is... Peter J - Yes, I'm a big fan of the 'Famous Grouse' ad - it features my cousin, Nigel - though he can be a bit grumpy (he's a Grouse, after all) Leicamann - We meet again !! I'll be sure to get Robert to save and print !! Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year from all in the garden, (including Robert when I let him back on the computer)
