Advertisement Posted March 31, 2010 Posted March 31, 2010 Hi jjjjuin, Take a look here what do you think about M9 prototype?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
matlep Posted March 31, 2010 Share #2 Posted March 31, 2010 Pleas elaborate. Feels like you left out some important details in your question.
mat_mcdermott Posted March 31, 2010 Share #3 Posted March 31, 2010 He's probably referring to the couple of M9 prototypes that were up for sale at an Austrian (?) site a couple weeks back. They were badged as M8, with no logo just an MP-style screw, and had what looked like an added on bit over the knock-out by the viewfinder to make it look entirely flat top like the M8. The site had a black and grey one for sale.
ohdannyboy Posted March 31, 2010 Share #4 Posted March 31, 2010 Can someone post pics or a link? I'd want to check this out to see if it's for real. I saw this on eBay the other day and my initial thoughts was that this is a scam since the real camera didn't look like the picture. Somebody must report that to ebay. The picture in the description is one of those which floated around on the web before the M9 was introduced. However the 3 pictures in the top are genuine. I call it diffcult to see if it really is a scam. It looks identical to the production M9 (with the exception of the Leica dot and M8 moniker vs the M9 engraved). adan Posted April 1, 2010 Share #11 Posted April 1, 2010 "Why would someone buy this?" Visit the Leica Historica Forum, dannyboy. Any Leica of which there are just a dozen or so in the world is red meat for collectors. The "feature" is that you get to own something even more exclusive than the regular M9. (And what you own is the real measure of your character, isn't it......?) I notice Photo Arsenal is selling prototypes or null-series test lenses for practically all the "R" lenses at the moment (I guess Leica is cleaning out the storeroom - or someone cleaned it out for them). I bet if you upgraded the firmware the value would drop...
