carstenw Posted December 19, 2006 Share #2 Posted December 19, 2006 Nice shot! At least on this little image, it looks a lot like film to me, without the harshness of digital.

carstenw Posted December 19, 2006 Share #6 Posted December 19, 2006 Alexander: "undergrowth-photography appears to be the trend of 2007". I would ignore that comment. It is provocative for no reason.

It is provocative for no reason. btw Carsten, mine M8 with a recalibrated finder returned from Solms. It works very fine, no banding in any ISO. Guest b2lore Posted December 19, 2006 Share #9 Posted December 19, 2006 Einige scheinen ja schon zu blöd zu sein um Gestrüpp von bäumen zu unterscheiden, echt arm Nice shot. You invented trolling from german user forum to the international user forum.

carstenw Posted December 19, 2006 Share #12 Posted December 19, 2006 Sebastian, it means "some are too stupid to differentiate undergrowth from trees; really poor". Funny. Uwe, egal nur fuer deutschsprecher, und das Forum hier ist nicht Deutsch. Others, Uwe has proclaimed that he doesn't like the picture, and thinks it doesn't matter if he says so in German or English. reven Posted December 19, 2006 Share #14 Posted December 19, 2006 I really can understand a lot of german posters here ^^. What you get in the German section is just so .... ok doesn't matter ^^
booggerg Posted December 20, 2006 Share #15 Posted December 20, 2006 Looks like the fog softened the image and hence less the digital-look. I still like the picture of the dog+flare. Most filmic M8 image so far.
Guest smep_reloaded Posted December 20, 2006 Share #16 Posted December 20, 2006 I am really sorry if I embarassed someone by using german language in the international board. One of the most admired members in the german board started to create a new series of fine art photographie while beeing on a photographic journey to the wonderful island of ibiza. By taking pictures of banal undergrowth-situations with his Leica MP (Black Paint) + Summicron-M 35/2.0 asph. (Black Paint) and printing this pictures on fiber based paper he draws the attention of the viewer to the little things in our nearest surroundings we normally just ignore and walk by. Example for "Gestrüpp-Fotografie" I thought the discipline of undergrowth-photographie is getting international now and the picture of alexander was a first attempt in this direction. So please don´t be angry and never forget that it´s not the most important thing to speak english: Helmut Kohl for example could not speak english but he was german cancellor for 16 years! Regards, Stefan
msr Posted December 20, 2006 Share #17 Posted December 20, 2006 SP - I think your "undergrowth" comment went "over the heads" (as we say in English) of most people and we didn't get the reference. Thanks for the explanation. I took the time to look at the photos in your link and found them to be really interesting. The work had an "edge" to it that I like. I will now spend more time time looking at the German forum, even though I understand no German! regards, Malcolm

Regards, Stefan Thanks for the correction. However, I have to disagree with one thing: it *is* the most important thing to speak English, if you frequent the international forum, because you posted in a thread which started in English. German is a language only useful to a tiny minority of people in the world (to which I belong).
gogopix Posted December 20, 2006 Share #19 Posted December 20, 2006 I for one welcome multi-lingual use of this, the International (not englisch) forum. Often easier to express some things in mother tongue. Also, here is another situation where comment can be mis-interpreted; maybe we go back to "innocent until proven guilty,' rather than assuming troll. However, when we find a troll, I encourage we use the "Whack -a-mole" game approach and hammer it out quickly :-)

Regards, Stefan The Gestrueppsfotographie thread is fascinating. For one thing, that it is up to page 60 or so, and posts number over 1000, and there is a real conversation going in the pictures. Another gesture that goes over my head is the frequent use of strangely spelled German, for example, the title, Doitsche fuer Auslaender. Is a dialect implied? Yiddish, of all things? Any clues would be appreciated. I can read German, but subtle jokes are beyond me. scott
