jaapv Posted April 4, 2010 Share #61 Posted April 4, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) don't know what happened there. maybe a focusing issue or canon lenses are really THAT bad. never seen anything like that from my D3x with top nikon glass.peter The guy has been up-and downressing to make images the same size. That always plays havoc with this kind of comparison.
Advertisement Posted April 4, 2010 Posted April 4, 2010 Hi jaapv, Take a look here M9 first impressions from a Canon DSLR user. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Maximus Posted April 4, 2010 Share #62 Posted April 4, 2010 The guy has been up-and downressing to make images the same size. That always plays havoc with this kind of comparison. I don't think so. He says they were pixel for pixel 100% crops.
Jamie Roberts Posted April 5, 2010 Share #63 Posted April 5, 2010 I don't think so. He says they were pixel for pixel 100% crops. I don't think he's messing with anything either I know those lenses and that's about what I'd expect. Look, the Canon 50 1.2L is a helluva great lens, but think Noctilux or early R Summilux, not latest model Summicron M 50 The 24-70L is, um, the 24-70L. It's a zoom. It's not a Nikon zoom, and it's no Summicron 50. So taking one of the three sharpest M lenses there is and comparing it with a beautiful old-style lens like the 50 1.2L is going to give precisely the results shown, IMO (though I think maybe the 50 1.2L in question is a wee bit off on adjustment too. Not much though).
