Tiger in Cage, Waiting, San Francisco

Thanks, Tom and Stuart,

Yes, disturbing subect, animals in cages. Not a pretty sight, but worth documenting. Luckily, this one is usually in an open area, and could never survive in the wild; the cage is for feeding, shelter, and medical care.

This tiger's partner, Tatiana, was shot and killed not long ago after 3 young men taunted the animal into an attack, scaling a tall enclosure, and killing one of the young men. Officers responded and had no choice but to shoot the still loose tiger. The zoo was rightfully blasted for not protecting the animals from the visitors. A taller glass wall was built to keep visitors from taunting.

Thanks for looking and commenting!
