gwelland Posted March 27, 2010 Share #21 Posted March 27, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) If it were me I'd keep one of the 28/35/50 lenses on the M9 and then use the M8 for the wide (not ultra wide) with the WATE, or for telephoto with the 75. I'd use the M9 as my main camera for whichever focal lengths I used most. The M8 tops/tails for the 'other' focal length to complement the main camera. Consider also the filter factor too. I assume that you are using UV/IR filters with the M8 and so that hassle factor should be considered too if you do move lenses between systems. If you shoot B&W then it's maybe a moot issue. Advertisement Posted March 27, 2010 Posted March 27, 2010 Hi gwelland, Take a look here Which lenses with M8, and which with M9, having both bodies?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Guest Lotw Posted March 27, 2010 Share #22 Posted March 27, 2010 You just speak about gaps. I would consider absolute quality of the lenses too and I would use M8 for color and M9 for B&W and some lenses are better for color than for B&W. My intuition says that the 35 cron would be better of with the M9, just like the 50 cron. I do not care so much for the angle of a 28mm so I would use that an my M8. I would prefer the WATE for the M8 because the bothersome use of the separate viewfinder is less critical on the M8 than on an M9. jaapv Posted March 27, 2010 Share #23 Posted March 27, 2010 I use my M8 as a throw-in-the-pocket-go-anywhere camera since I got the M9. For that purpose I got a CV color-skopar 35/2.5. A really nice combo. And I kept my IR filters, in case the M8 is needed as a backup.

David Hi Dave. Maybe not crap, but I just got the M9 and it is more than just a bigger sensor. I do know what you mean. Hey, I saw your site and it is very cool. Great concert shots. I'll be in SV in August after a short detour to Stanley to fly fish the Salmon River. Do you know Jeff Lubeck?
