mattnnz Posted March 24, 2010 Share #1 Â Posted March 24, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) Has anyone on this forum gotten an X1 from Adorama? If so how long did you wait? Also does anyone have any insight to how Leica is distributing X1s to dealers? I'm hoping my camera comes before I leave for Vietnam at the beginning of May. Advertisement Posted March 24, 2010 Posted March 24, 2010 Hi mattnnz, Take a look here Ordered an X1 from Adorama. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
twogirlsoneleica Posted March 24, 2010 Share #2 Â Posted March 24, 2010 I'd been hoping on the same thing; I emailed basically every major dealer to try and find one as of last week the general line was that no one had heard from Leica at all in regards to the X1 availability, par all the nonsense about the damaged shipment crate of Leica stuff two weeks ago. Â Adorama emailed me back saying: "The original ETA for the product was 02/28/10 and as of yet it seems Leica is behind and has given us no information on the del. Date plus how much they are going to ship us." Â Anyhow, I got seriously lucky last weekend and found a new X1 in Australia on eBay for $2300 AUD, should be here tomorrow. I did notice another one in France and another in Hong Kong a few weeks back, so you may get lucky in the meantime.
kkochheiser Posted March 24, 2010 Share #3 Â Posted March 24, 2010 I emailed my contact at Roberts in Indianapolis and they replied yesterday that they had one if I wanted it. It arrives here today. I have no idea if they have another one but they seem to be in the pipeline.
mattnnz Posted March 25, 2010 Author Share #4 Â Posted March 25, 2010 I am going to be bummed if I can't get one before I leave because I will wind having to wait until Feb when I come back to USA during Tet. Getting via mail is a non-starter 40% duty of electronics.
jsrockit Posted March 25, 2010 Share #5 Â Posted March 25, 2010 mattnnz, stay aggresive and call places every few days. Don't just put yourself on one list and expect to get one... put yourself on many lists and keep calling the lesser known places.

Mark2 Posted March 26, 2010 Share #8 Â Posted March 26, 2010 This camera is really good, so light and take nice pictures. I can carry it around without feeling the weight... For daytime shots, the image is better than my Canon 5D Mark 2 with a 50mm 1.4f lens. But for night shots, the Canon is far more superior. Than again the Canon weighs at least 6 times its weight
h00ligan Posted March 26, 2010 Share #9 Â Posted March 26, 2010 that's a pretty serious claim - being better than the 5d mk2 in daylight. Â I mean, it's still a full frame vs asp-c right? I'd love to see some shots side by side that you consider better. Very impressive if true.
AlanJW Posted March 26, 2010 Share #10 Â Posted March 26, 2010 I emailed Brad Berger at Berger Brothers (Amityville NY) about a week or ten days ago, and ended up with one on Wednesday this week. Don't know if they have any more. Â <http://www.berger-bros.com/>
