Gerard Posted March 23, 2010 Share #1 Posted March 23, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) Just bought myself a V1 Summilux 75, but my rapid research let me down, and after purchasing a mint (unused) E60 UV/IR filter, I've just found out the V1 lens is E58. Are there step rings available and, if used, do they cause nasty light artifacts? I can't seem to find any E58 UV/IR filters being sold - did Leica produce them? Doesn't that thing have a slide-out shade? In that case, a step-up is sup-optimal. Heliopan and B+W do sell E58 filters, AFAIK. I'm unsure about Leica producing or having produced them. cbretteville Posted March 23, 2010 Share #4 Posted March 23, 2010 B+W makes their 486 filter in 58mm. Foto Huppert has them Foto Huppert - Spezialfilter 486 UV IR Cut MRC The B+W filters work just as well as Leica's, especially on longer focal lengths. Shade Posted March 25, 2010 Share #5 Posted March 25, 2010 Leica don't make 58mm Filters. They go straight to 60 from 55. I've known three brands that makes UVIR in 58mm, B+W, Heliopan, and Marumi. They're a bit hard to find here in my country though. Not sure about youre place.
