veerachai Posted June 20, 2010 Share #182 Posted June 20, 2010 Amazing on this little camera. Just fall in love with it but you need to accept no immediate shots due to slow focusing. 321Whitewillow Posted June 21, 2010 Share #185 Posted June 21, 2010 I got my camera a couple of weeks ago. I went for a stroll on a fine sunny Sunday afternoon just to give my x1 a workout. Great shots! I don't know why too. I don't bother to take raw. Just jpg. Transfer it to my pc. That's all! That's all the shot I want. The more I use my X1, the more I love it. It works like my second nature, just as another member here has said for his case before. mike Still The Moment
phancj Posted June 22, 2010 Share #193 Posted June 22, 2010 phancj - great pictures, I especially like the first portrait. Stunning. ravinj - another excellent example of the X1's outstanding jpeg performance. Hey Eddie, thanks! Used to bring my dslr in the streets of India and getting unnecessary attention, not to mention a big lens jutting into me...this is my first trip to India with the X1, the satisfaction was immense! I think a big plus is also the shots are more candid, and people are much less likely to pose and are more themselves...attached another shot taken at a construction site....the more I use the X1, the happier I am with the images and this camera... ezc203 Posted June 22, 2010 Author Share #194 Posted June 22, 2010 Phanj - Another excellent portrait. I will be visiting my best friend in Mumbai later next month. Hopefully, I can achieve some similar results with my X1.
phancj Posted June 22, 2010 Share #195 Posted June 22, 2010 Phanj - Another excellent portrait. I will be visiting my best friend in Mumbai later next month. Hopefully, I can achieve some similar results with my X1. Yup, India presents so much in terms of photo opportunities....the trip I just came back from yesterday morning was to the mountainous areas of Himachal Pradesh. One thing about India right now, I was in New Delhi also and it was hot, I mean real hot! Just standing 5 minutes in the sun was like being in the oven, temperature was 43 degree celsius...perfect for getting the perfect tan in 15 minutes hahahah... have a great trip there!! h00ligan Posted June 22, 2010 Share #196 Posted June 22, 2010 Yah we have heat like that here right now, for another three months. I can't get motivated to go out unless it's dawn 4:30a or dusk 8:30p. Sigh.
RichardM8 Posted June 23, 2010 Share #197 Posted June 23, 2010 This morning I've sold the last remaining part of my Canon (40D) SLR gear, a beautiful manual focus Zeiss Distagon T* f/2.0 - 35mm ZE. While compact and small by Canon L lens standards, this Zeiss lens alone is as big and nearly twice as heavy than the entire X1... I'm very happy that I took the plunge and got rid of the SLR gear frenzy. And the X1 - yes, while limited - blows it away on image quality. On every single image. Amazing... I friend of mine has a Canon 7D with quite some L glass and he couldn't believe the quality of the X1 images. Starring at my screen in disbelief. "Unbelievable, it's so small!"... ravinj Posted June 23, 2010 Share #198 Posted June 23, 2010 This morning I've sold the last remaining part of my Canon (40D) SLR gear, a beautiful manual focus Zeiss Distagon T* f/2.0 - 35mm ZE. While compact and small by Canon L lens standards, this Zeiss lens alone is as big and nearly twice as heavy than the entire X1... Welcome to the club. I did the same after getting my X1 - sold my Pentax DSLR gear and lenses. It feels liberating. It would be very hard to go back to bigger cameras. The other day (night), I went to a fair and took some night shots. I did not carry it in a case. Just slipped the X1 in my jeans pocket. 1) Jpg out of camera, from top of the ferris wheel and 2) on the ride, no flash. Welcome, dear visitor! RichardM8 Posted June 23, 2010 Share #199 Posted June 23, 2010 While certainly not perfect (which camera is?) the X1 is the current compact camera benchmark for IQ. It's as simple as that. No small achievement for such a small company up against the giants of the industry. And a real camera to use and operate! (great night shots btw!)
