oskarhhh Posted March 19, 2010 Share #1 Posted March 19, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi! I ve found a Digilux 2 in mint condition only 200-300 exposures. It was used 2004 and been in its box since. The sensor has not been replaced. The price is 560 dollars. Can the sensor fail even if its not in use? Or can I feel certin that the camera will last for at least 3-4 years What do you think? Shall I buy it? Regards oskar
Advertisement Posted March 19, 2010 Posted March 19, 2010 Hi oskarhhh, Take a look here Need advice!! . I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
brucek Posted March 19, 2010 Share #2 Posted March 19, 2010 No, I don't think you should take a chance on it. I think you should let me know where it is so I can buy it and guarantee that you don't get a bad deal. In all honesty that sounds like a great deal. Even if the sensor is bad (which it might be) Leica is still replacing them free of charge last I heard. And for a D2 in mint condition that is a really good price IMHO. Good luck! Take a few shots with various settings, test the autofocus, the manual focus (is it smooth?), the flash, any major scratches on the lens, are the rings "tight", do the EVF and LCD work well, etc. Then check the results on your laptop. If the photos look OK, then chances are that the camera is still OK and has not "died" from non-usage. If the seller says that the camera cannot be tested (e.g. dead battery, no card, etc.) I would be careful. As far as sensor replacement goes, Bruce answered that part. siangs Posted March 20, 2010 Share #4 Posted March 20, 2010 if i were in your position, i'd checked the camera, tested it, and if everything are fine, i will take it right away. the price $560 for digilux2 is a bargain to me, i think you should grab it before the seller change his mind. good luck
