svenning Posted December 18, 2006 Share #1 Posted December 18, 2006 Advertisement (gone after registration) When my ship passed Sri Lanka - this small falcon (?) landed on board. It was very tired and I could approach the bird within one meters distance before it flew off. The bird stayed on board until we passed Somalia. I hope it survived. Dear Doug, Here is some other pictures of the falcon - that may give you an idea of what kind of falcon it is? All the best - Svenning, Denmark. telyt Posted December 26, 2006 Share #12 Posted December 26, 2006 My best guess is that it's an immature Hobby (Falco subbuteo).
wilyum Posted December 29, 2006 Share #13 Posted December 29, 2006 Great captures, Svenning! That bird certainly looks exhausted. He looks like a Peregrine Falcon to me, but I'm willing to bow to the opinion of an expert. Best regards, Bill
