Are 24mm crop lines visible with 1.25x magnifier?

Not without moving your eye around, and even then - only one at a time. I don't use glasses, which would make it worse. I can just see the 28 framelines with the magnifier in place, basically at the outside edges of the visible area.

They are most likely walking around with an additional telephoto and would like to switch lenses without having to remove the magnifier.

I may be biased by the fact that a correct diopter is far more effective for me that any magnifier. For my eyes the only thing it does is magnify vision problems. With a well-adjusted viewfinder I find lenses like the Summicron 90 and Tele-Elmarit easy to focus. It all depends on the eyes of the individual I suppose.

Some just prefer the most used lenses, to fill the frame more than others Jaap ;-)

 

I prefer, to have my 50mm displayed with the closest magnification possible to x1.0, but stopped messing with magnifiers, as I don't like the sticking out thingy lately.

 

My x1.4 mag stays at home.
