Using the Charger in different countries

It appears that you have misplaced the other adapters as there are no provisions in the charger for storage of what adapters you're currently not using. Italy uses the standard two round pin type receptacle. I travel with at least three additional power adapters for netbook, I-Pod, etc.

Since the charger automatically adjusts from 120V 60 Hz to 240V 50 Hz, you just need an adapter plug.

I think that the term "converter" technically applies to a box that converts one frequency and voltage to another (i.e. does a bit more than a "transformer," which only changes voltage).

First thing is to check the box for the other plugs. If they're not there, you can order replacements from Leica.

Or go to any travel or electronics store (or web site) and get a set of plug adapters, or just the "US to standard European" one, to plug into the wall on one side, and your M charger into on the other side, just as the other posters said. The same adapter plug will then work with your shaver and your other electronics, so long as they are also 120V - 240V compatible.

One caveat... When traveling in more scenic areas watch out for places were the electricity fluctuates...

(My favorite is when the lights dim when you adjust the shower... :p hehe)...

Some have reported that their charger was ruined by power surges - There is a fuse inside the charger that CAN NOT be accessed by a mere mortal...

JR--

It's an honor to meet an honest man!

You're forgiven.

The first time I needed the European plug, I knew one had come with the charger, but I didn't remember what I had done with it--put it with travel supplies? or with seldom-used camera accessories? Looked everywhere, finally found it in the M8 box.
