Summicron 50 and Lightroom Metadata

I have a new Summicron 50 lens. In Lightroom, sometimes the metadata reads

Summicron 50 f2

and sometimes Roman numerals are added--Summicron 50 f2 (IV,V). Does anyone know what the Roman numerals are referring to?

Also, am I correct in concluding that there is no metadata recorded for the focus distance? I haven't seen any. I assume this is because the focus is manual.

Thanks

I don't own the 50 cron, but a 50 pre-asph 50 summilux, 18, 24, 50 1 noctilux, 75, 90 and 135 Tele-Elmar-M. I suppose the Roman Numericals refer to the lens version (as in my 50 pre-asph (II). Light Room displays the lens in the Develop Window (set up in preferences or Command-I). I have never seen metadata recorded for the focus distance - so I assume you are again correct.

Thanks.

While I suppose it is too late for this upcoming release of the firmware (supposedly today), if it is possible to record focus distance as metadata, it would be very useful data to have in reviewing and evaluating photos and gaining instinct.

No way, i guess, the M lenses are not wired and the rangefinder is a totally optical/mechanical device. The focussing distance cannot be recorded.

Cheers,

Ario
