Tor1Amos Posted March 14, 2010 Share #1 Posted March 14, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) Have used the M8 for a while. But - nope, the feeling in the pictures isnt right (for me) I therefor loadet up the old M6 and took it on a trip to town. The Summicron used to be on the M8, with the UV/IR filter on. Of course I forgot to remove the filter when I put in on the M6, and I shot a lot of pictures. The are even developed, and they LOOK allright. (Agfa apx 100) Havent got a scanner (or a darkroom) at the moment so I havent been able to look at the final result. What should I expect?
Advertisement Posted March 14, 2010 Posted March 14, 2010 Hi Tor1Amos, Take a look here Forgot to remove the UV/IR filter. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
richam Posted March 14, 2010 Share #2 Posted March 14, 2010 I ordinarily leave the IR cut filter on the lens when I use B&W in a film M. No noticeable difference.
cbretteville Posted March 14, 2010 Share #3 Posted March 14, 2010 So do I. Never noticed anything other than vignetting when using my Super-Elmar 18 with it's uv/ir filter on my film Ms - but that is as expected. Carl
Xmas Posted March 15, 2010 Share #4 Posted March 15, 2010 With a film M you wont get the same amount of flare or iris images as with a M8 or M9. The IR filter in front of lens is a poor compromise... Noel
