wattsy Posted December 17, 2006 Share #7 Posted December 17, 2006 Advertisement (gone after registration) Nice - love the flare (what lens was this?). Presumably a Staffordshire Bull?

abrewer Posted December 17, 2006 Share #9 Posted December 17, 2006 Nice - love the flare (what lens was this?). Presumably a Staffordshire Bull? A standard white bull terrier...the preferred breed of Gen. George S. Patton: The Bull Terrier must be strongly built, muscular, symmetrical and active, with a keen determined and intelligent expression, full of fire but of sweet disposition and amenable to discipline. Thanks. Allan

I won't be showing this thread to my wife for precisely this reason... 2 dogs is enough at once :-)

rvaubel Posted December 17, 2006 Share #12 Posted December 17, 2006 It is like a dog... With all the talk of the dog (and I love all Bully Dogs, have two Pits myself), no one seems to mention the horrible flare. The top picture has some of the worst flare caused by filters that I have ever seen. I can't remember if your filters are coated or not ? wattsy Posted December 17, 2006 Share #13 Posted December 17, 2006 no one seems to mention the horrible flare. The top picture has some of the worst flare caused by filters that I have ever seen. I mentioned it, albeit in complimentary terms. There are many times when a bit of flare helps lift an image. The first image above is a pretty spectacular example. carstenw Posted December 17, 2006 Share #14 Posted December 17, 2006 Actually, I really like that flare, as long as it is not a 50 Lux Asph The bull terrier is loyal, realtively docile, easily trained, strong like a tank, and about as clever. My childhood friend/neighbour had one, and once it was looking out the window, from the 2nd floor, when my friend's mother returned from work. The dog was so happy he jumped straight out the window. Landed on his skull, upside down. He jumped up, shook his head, and ran over to the mother to greet her Apparently their skulls are extra-thick. booggerg Posted December 17, 2006 Share #15 Posted December 17, 2006 I love the top picture! The flare is good for that image. It's very film like. I do'nt get people who think you can't have flare in any picture.
atufte Posted December 17, 2006 Author Share #16 Posted December 17, 2006 Nice - love the flare (what lens was this?). Presumably a Staffordshire Bull? The lens: Summicron 35/2 Pre-Asph Type 2 @ f/2 (not coded) The Dog: Most of you were right, English Bull terrier... I also like the flare, i actually went out intentionally without the lens shade... Thanks for all the comments :-) Best Regards Alexander Tufte http://www.alexandertufte.com

Hehehe, funny story, i have heard similar story's from fellow bully owners, this dogs are very special, not only by their looks but they also have extraordinary personality, they like to entertain us, and behave like complete clowns/muppets just to see you smile and have a laugh.... My dog Thelma could get a job at the local circus without any formal training, hehe...
