ezc203 Posted March 12, 2010 Share #1 Posted March 12, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) The X1 interface is kind of buggy for me. Anyone else experience this problem? Can we expect a firmware update anytime soon?

jsrockit Posted March 12, 2010 Share #2 Posted March 12, 2010 Which problem?
eduardoho Posted March 12, 2010 Share #3 Posted March 12, 2010 My issue is not the software got any bugs, but it feels that it was made for a camera of yesteryear. I am fully cognizant that the geeks at Leica skunkworks is sensitive to hidden flaws so they really are careful and extremely anal before releasing it to the public, which I am grateful for. But I agree, it does not have the cutting edge feeling, the inherent smoothness, the responsiveness typically associated with the latest software development. It is sort of sluggish and the lag is perplexing. But, me no wanna be a nay sayer for I am an avid X1 lover, hopefuly a firmware in next six months or so be a welcome solution. jsrockit Posted March 12, 2010 Share #4 Posted March 12, 2010 It is shocking how long it takes to go into "play" mode... wow, slowest ever for me.
ezc203 Posted March 12, 2010 Author Share #5 Posted March 12, 2010 Yes, most my problems are associated with the "Play" mode. For some reason, when zooming out, there's a HUGE lag between 75% to zoom-to-fit displaying. And pressing "Play" a second time does not return me to "Shooting" mode? Instead I HAVE to semi-press the shutter? Stuff like that is slowing down my shooting speed and that annoys me from time to time.
artyca Posted March 12, 2010 Share #6 Posted March 12, 2010 I'm also hoping for a firmware update soon. The camera's response is rather sluggish and does not fit to the high price tag that we all paid for it.

The camera's response is rather sluggish and does not fit to the high price tag that we all paid for it. That's true, but I don't think a firmware update would overcome this. I read and saw many reviews about the X1 and I also don't like this but I knew it when I bought it.
thomsva Posted March 12, 2010 Share #9 Posted March 12, 2010 I am very glad that this is the case! It would be very not logical to press play when you want to shoot an image. But this would be perfectly logical for all us Windows users. When I want to turn off my computer I first click "Start".
