likalar Posted March 10, 2010 Share #4 Posted March 10, 2010 Steve is right. The 20 isn't fancy, but on auto it does a decent job, and will let you trick the flash into just a small amount of fill flash, if that's your desire. You'll also have a manual setting, of course, but I understand the TTL setting does not work on the M9. Use it often and experiment; you'll find it pretty handy once you get used to it. Larry Edit: I just looked at your work..VERY nice, and much of it stunning!!!! You'll love this camera; the lenses and files are practically perfect for nature scenes. Thanks for posting that link, and welcome!
craig stanton Posted March 10, 2010 Author Share #5 Posted March 10, 2010 Thanks very much, need all the help i can get right now!!! Trying to get the hang of focusing the thing at the moment, used to a 1ds mk111 so all this manual focus malarky is a new ball game - fun though!!!! Appreciate everyones help - dont want to use flash much - only when i REALLY need it so the SF20 will be a cheap buy and forced into the extremities of my bag for emergencies! Jerry_R Posted March 10, 2010 Share #6 Posted March 10, 2010 As people said - no TTL, but you can use A mode. According to manual, in A mode you can set apertures like 2.8, 5.6, 11. eritho Posted March 11, 2010 Share #7 Posted March 11, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) Please be aware that you will probably need to dial in EV+2 in exposure compensation when using SF20 in "Auto" mode. I still don't understand why or what really happens doing this If anyone know I would be more than happy for an explanation!
