I experience the worst difficulties to transfer my images shot on raw files from my camera to the computer. Whether I try to do it through Adobe LIghtroom or by copying and pasting the files from the memory card on the camera to the computer's harddisk. What shall I do ? LDHaber Posted March 8, 2010 Share #3 Posted March 8, 2010 In addition to the advice that you use a card reader, I would supplement that advice. You have a Macbook Pro and I suspect that your expresscard slot is empty. You can get an expresscard card reader for around $25. Then, the card reader is not always with you, but you'll find it is the fastest option you'll have for importing files from your card. Convenient and fast. No cables and nothing extra to remember. Regards, Jeremie What do you mean by "worst difficulties to transfer my images"? Can you be a bit more specific? What error message? What are the symptoms? What kind of memory card do you use? I have only done the transfer twice (from inside LR2 with camera connected by USB cable) and it worked fine. I am running 10.6.2. Guest WPalank Posted March 8, 2010 Share #6 Posted March 8, 2010 Since you left us with such little information: Is there the chance that you are using a "SD" card reader to try to download images from a "SDHC" card? An SD card has no problem fitting in the slot of a SDHC card reader and vice versa, but the computer doesn't read the information off the respective cards. When using the proper card/card reader combination I have no problems downloading images onto my MacBook Pro computer. Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...

Always use a card reader to download images. 2. Simply drag the directory from the SD card to where you want it on your hard disk. 3. Then import them into LR Or if you have a newer MBP, use the SD slot. Also suggest only using Sandisk SDHC cards - 8 GB or 16 GB Sandisk Extreme III's either Cat 6 or 10. Using fast SDHC cards minimizes downloading time. MBP's with a SD slot are designed to max Sandisk Extreme III cards. k-hawinkler Posted March 8, 2010 Share #8 Posted March 8, 2010 This procedure seems to work and has been pointed out before by several folks: Use "Image Capture" on Mac with "USB connection" set to "PTP" on M9 to download images over the USB cable. I'll buy a card reader anytime soon, but in the meantime, following the advice read here, I was able to transfer the files through Apple's image capture application. I then imported the files into Lightroom 2. I had tried earlier the photo downloader function of Adobe Bridge, as advised on one post, but to no avail. I've read here and there on the forum that my problem is common: when trying to import the files directly through LR2, the process would jam after a few pics had been downloaded.
