I've got two question for you, because I'm new of the Leica M camera , infact since now I've used only a Nikon F100. Is it normal that i feel everyhing strong and hard to move ? like rewind crank, shutter release button, focusing ring... and so on Second question : What is or what is for the red dot at the bottom of the line of figures in the viewfinder? I have an inkling though, that what you are experiencing the difference between the feel of your Nikon and the Leica M7. Particularly the focusing action of the Leica lenses will feel more solid than that of the Nikon. Don't forget that autofocus lenses have very little if any lubricants and most do not use helicoids for lens extension. It is the well damped helicoid focusing action which makes the Leica lens feel "hard to move" compared to your Nikon. An excellent parallel would be a person driving a Chevrolet getting behind the wheel of a BMW - all of a sudden everything will feel "strong and hard".... As to the red dot in the finder - my M7 is home and I am in the office.... From what I recall it is an indication that your camera is set to DX coding, or that the manually set ISO does not correspond to the DX coding on the film canister. There were some problems with this feature on the M7 in the past. I prefer to set my ISO manually and not rely on the DX coding. That was the problem, the flashing dot at the bottom means there's no film inside but I haven't red anything about that in the manual.
