Guest ccmsosse Posted March 11, 2010 Share #2 Posted March 11, 2010 Has anyone heard whether Amazon has started shipping the Leica X1? Thanks Joan A search on the Amazon Site doesn't even allow to pre-order the X1 Dale Photo&Digital has the following statement: "..The X1 is currently available for pre-order. We have already started receiving deliveries and are in the process of filling our pre-order list. We expect this item to be "in stock" in the next couple of weeks..." There is hope... jsrockit Posted March 11, 2010 Share #3 Posted March 11, 2010 I haven't heard anything around the internet about it yet Joan. It appears that Leica gave the cameras to authorized Leica dealers, or if that is not the proper term, Leica dealers who have historically moved a lot of merchandise. Amazon seems to be in the second tier of Leica dealers such as J&R in NYC.
stnolan Posted March 11, 2010 Share #4 Posted March 11, 2010 BTW if you go to Bing cashback, they have a $100 cashback if you buy your X1 from J&R
eduardoho Posted March 13, 2010 Share #5 Posted March 13, 2010 You got to order and let them swipe your credit cad in order to be on the so called wait list, even at the "Leica authorized dealers"....but Amazon.com affiliated retailers are selling various accessories for X1, i.e. ever ready case, leather case, hand grip and even spare battery. Are these gray market stuff?...but who cares anyway, only X1 matters to make sure it is covered by Leica USA warranty, for you are certainly in need of warranty repairs, X1 got some quality control issues related to her fragile body finish. I made sure mine was from an authorized Leica dealer for I got quality issues to reckon with. I got mine on March 3, 2010 from Planet Optics who had Leica Camera USA Allendale NJ intervene to expedite my order.
