Hi there, this is my first time on this forum. I have just bought a digilux 2 (at last) and was looking for some advice. Can I use my SF20 flashgun from my D1 with the D2. It does reccommend the SF24 but just want to make sure I'm not going to break anything. Also anyone know where I can get a Leica/Lumix wide angle for the D"?

Thanks

Howard--

Welcome to the forum, and congratulations on the Digilux 2.

You won't damage anything by using the SF20 on the Digilux 2. The D2 and SF24 were designed together, so all the functions on each work with the other. I don't know what functions it has that aren't on the SF20, so there'll be some limitations. Try it and see what doesn't work as the manual says.

Sorry, I don't have any clues about the wide-angle attachment. Good luck on that. I'd like one as well, but everyone who has one says it's big and heavy and usually stays home. So I guess it's just as well not to spend the money. :(

Thanks Howard,

Apologies for the delay but I have been away. Great news on the SF20 , that will save me a little money. By the way I found one of those wide angle lenses. It is HUGE!! But I will give it a go .

Thanks again.

good size but its operationally dumb, full manual

the Panasonic wide attachment is positively huge and weighs more than the camera

here it is with a Metz 54MZ3 and dedicated hotshoe

Huge but excellent, I understand. :)

I haven't been able to find one legitimately for sale. Wish I had your luck. :(

The subject hasn't come up, but when you use the internal flash on the D2, you get flash sync all the way up.

With an external flash you can only sync to 1/250th.

the higher speed might be important some time -- assuming he internal flash will fit the bill.
