Looking for larger bag (I am going photo)

I slowly finish completing my M9 lenses and accessories. I have looked on bags producers and found, that they mostly make bags for camera bodies and lenses of dSLR size

 

I used to have Lowepro NOVA 200 AW:

 

 

 

And... it will fit M9, few lenses, flash, several accessories, but... there is an issue. Any cell for lens is too big!

What a benefit from fitting my all staff, if half of space is used by air.

I could fit 3 M lenses in one of its cells...

 

Do you know a bag, that has smaller cells? And a bag, that would fit 1 or 2 bodies, few lenses plus accessories?

 

So far I found only this:

But it has too few cells, dividers... I am looking for a bag, that would fit all staff, that could be used for travelling too. But with smaller cells than dSLR size.

that is exactly what I did before I created new thread. Unfortunately, most people look for sth opposite - small bag. Not kind of "I am going photographing" but "want to have M body (and eventually one or two lenses) with me".

There was also a thread, when someone was looking for big bag, but all proposals were kind of dSLRs bags.

 

Let me narrow the question - does anybody know if there is any producer that:

A) makes bag with cells for lens smaller than for dSLR lenses (so no Lowepro, Tamrac, etc.)

AND

has a bag not for body plus two lenses, but for more stuff?

 

Would be enough for cell to be 8-10cm high and with 5-6cm wide.

 

And for example Lowepro NOVA 200 offeers: 20cm of height and 8-10 cm width.

It means - I can put into one cell 2 to 4 M lenses... Not practical.

I am very happy with a Think Tank Speed Demon ... use it as either a shoulder bag or a waist bag. In it I carry an M9 and a 35mm, a 24mm, a 50 'cron, a 90 mm and a 135mm. Plus batteries, and a few gadgets and SD cards. It suits me just fine.

I don't know what your price range is, but the only two companies I know of that have built some of their designs around the M system are Billingham and Fogg. Both are fairly high-end, so I don't know what to tell you if you're looking for something moderately priced.

If you want a bag for one M body/lens attached, with several other lenses and accessories, then there are lots of them in the threads I mentioned. If, however, you want to hold two M bodies/lenses attached, with several other lenses and accessories, then that's another size up from many discussed...but they exist from many of the same companies.

 

The Fogg b-Laika, for example, is perfect for the former arrangement, too small for the latter. The dividers also include one that can go horizontally that allows one to place one lens on top of another. All of the dividers are movable. (One can also attach their pouches on either side of the bag for additional lenses or accessories.)

 

I believe the Billingham Hadley range is similar in size, but I can't speak for the divider arrangements. Other companies also provide similarly sized bags, at far lower price points, and the interior flexibility varies. Many people buy a bag from one company and use inserts from another (or devise their own).

Fogg, and similar bags mentioned are worth looking into. the cells can be rearranged. This one easily holds 2 bodies, 4 lenses, tabletop tripod, meter, small flash, etc... This size will allow you room for future bodies, etc, but a smaller one may be better for you. The padding is generous. The center cell has a flap, with room under it for a couple of lenses. All is easily inspected at Security points. Lately I use it to store extra gear; I only take the loaded bag to closed events, like a friend's wedding...... Around town a camera with 1 extra lens in a pocket is enough weight for me.

 

I can't remember the model name/number. The first picture is accurate color, almost. Other colors available. See their web site. The lid mounted lens/film holder is custom, not included.

I second this. Just received the Fogg Forte & it holds my M9, MP, 90, 50, 28, 16-18-29 TriElmar & then some. Once I know the lay of the land for my shooting that day, I'll often just walk about with the 2 bodies, each at a different focal length.

I second a vote for Think Tank. I have their Urban 40 and Change Over (bum bag), and both are intelligently designed and well made.

A third vote for Think Tank, the Urban Disguise 40 is the best designed and best made bag I have ever had. I think the UB40 would be about the right size for two M bodies and a selection of lenses and flash. But the key thing is that it gives space for the other things you may want to take on a day out, like maps, or a bottle of water, and it will absorb all the things you collect on a day out, like tickets, more maps, food, etc. It amazing how many discreet and useful pockets there are in the bag. All this within similar dimensions to many bags that hold less and weight more. It also makes a great airport bag that can be attached to a trolly, and you can even buy a set of backpack straps for it.

The Urban 40 would easily fit two M bodies with attached lenses, side by side, along with a third lens, and with space to give. Two bodies and four lenses may be pushing it however, unless you did some stacking.

 

I just traveled to the Galapagos with two rangefinders and four lenses and this bag (plus a Think Tank Bum bag). Excellent expereince with these bags all round.

 

The Urban 40 is the type of bag I've been in search of for years. It's a near perfect bag...if I was younger. I prefer the "bum bags," because it saves my already bad back, putting the axial load on the hips down.

 

All Think Tank bags have dividers that can be moved around.

It's loaded with pockets and pouches, many of them zippered. I'm still finding new ones. No digging for items required. Really thoughtfully designed.
