Eliminate black plastic on back of M9 and replace with chromed or black paint buttons

The only issue with the buttons that I've seen was the ease by which the delete button can be pressed in general walkabout situations. I never had the issue but I know that some folks addressed it by applying a small rubber washer to make the button harder to hit.

I'd rather know that they were water tight vs any bling. They seem to do the job just fine as they are IMHO.

All this talk of the color of buttons makes me crave to see real photos taken with this camera. This is a tool, not jewelry. I have had an M8 since 2007, and 40,000 exposures later I have yet to notice anything about the buttons on my camera. I guess when you take lots of photographs, these things go unnoticed!!!!!

I am happy with the plastic buttons. Completely functional. Sapphire is nice but expensive for the LCD but for $25 my Giottos protector is fine. I am very happy my lens elements are not plastic. The buttons are not going to help me make good images.

There was a TV ad recently for binoculars for about $29.00 supposedly the equal of those costing hundreds, with elements made from "space-age polycarbonite". Wow.
