plasticman Posted February 27, 2010 Share #1 Posted February 27, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) My Canon 0,95 has sat on a mechanic's shelf for the best part of a year now, awaiting what would probably be a very meticulous conversion - but unfortunately it looks like it'll never actually happen. I've paid for UPS in one direction, and after months of long international telephone conversations (but no conversion) I await invoicing for postal service back again. Now I'm gonna give the lens a month or so on the Canon 7 that it came with (and which no-one appears to want to buy) and then I intend to send it off again to be reliably converted to M-mount by someone who has done such conversions before, to work to M8 tolerances. Because of the issues with import duties for items coming from the States, I need to find someone who is experienced with these conversions in Europe. Any suggestions would be warmly appreciated. farnz Posted February 27, 2010 Share #2 Posted February 27, 2010 Mani, There's a do-it-yourself method here that looks quite straightforward by simply removing the breachlock mount, dropping a LTM to M mount adaptor over the rear lens elements and screwing it to the flange. If you don't have the tools I'd think a jeweller should be able to do it very quickly for a modest fee. Note that you need to check that the rangefinder follower is visible at the rear of the lens: normally a portion of the rear element is cut away and a metal lever (the rangefinder follower) pokes through or else it won't be rangefinder coupled. Yours is the Canon S version so you should be okay - I believe it was the Canon TV version that needed this done. Alternatively I believe that the German company WIESE FOTOTECHNIK in HAMBURG has done it before. Or CAMERA REPAIRS & RESTORATION in Luton, UK should be able to do it. Pete.
