scjohn Posted February 27, 2010 Share #1 Posted February 27, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) I used the m9 on a trip to New Orleans. The results "after dark" were just spectacular. The file quality and colors are stunning. The m8 really does not compare. It sure sucks batteries but I am lucky to have two spares.

Ed_K Posted February 27, 2010 Share #2 Posted February 27, 2010 So i can safely assume that your M9 did not mis-behalf during the trip, correct? Will look forward to your photos when you go the chance to share with us

Ed_K Posted February 28, 2010 Share #5 Posted February 28, 2010 Thank you for the feedback, Michael, scjohn .... good to know there are some M9s out there that perform admirably. I am still saving for mine this spring, hopefully she won't give me the hiccup upon arrival

Let me reassure you that it is a fine camera... although I did get a few very minor hiccups myself but nothing you cannot fix... I guess this goes with any product on the market. Goodluck and happy shooting and do share your pics when it arrives. ccmsosse: You too, have a lovely website Pophoto

I am very happy with the full format sensor. I can use my elmarit 2,8/21 mm use as it is meant. But my only disappointment is the time for formatting the SD card and the red corners, when using the 2,8 21 with great aperture or the the 4,5 15 mm Voigtländer. novice9 Posted February 28, 2010 Share #9 Posted February 28, 2010 Jaap -- if you had to guess how much longer it will be until the new firm ware arrives, what would you say?
jaapv Posted February 28, 2010 Share #10 Posted February 28, 2010 I have really no idea. I saw a mail by Stefan Daniel on this forum implying mid-March.
Ed_K Posted February 28, 2010 Share #11 Posted February 28, 2010 Guess i am a bit spoiled by the M6 being trouble-free and hearing a few stories here and there, do have me worry a "little" bit. Given the backorder condition of Leica, the firmware might release long before i got hold of mine .... that would be good timing.

Sad to see some of your 'In captivity' pics although the camel looks rather proud!

Hmm - I had one of the early M6 cameras from new - and all three my digital M cameras have been more trouble free. It had to go to the factory three times because of self-destructing electronics...
