Amagansetter Posted February 26, 2010 Share #1 Posted February 26, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) Until yesterday each time I launched Aperture 3 a notice appeared just under the histogram of the adjustments pane saying that the image had been processed in an earlier version of Aperture and would have to be reprocessed; a button was provided to do this. This was annoying--because it kept happening with the same images--but fairly innocuous. After installing yesterday's Raw Compatibility 3.i, however, the same notice appeared (with slightly different wording) and after clicking on the "Reprocess" button there would be a long hesitation and then a crash. When I tried to reprocess all the images in an album or project the bar graph would freeze about 2/3 of the way through and then crash. In several instances when the "reprocessing" seemed to work the images in question either went totally blank, turned all grey or became a kind of neon in Christmassy colors. I spoke at length to someone at AppleCare who was very helpful and we eventually uninstalled the upgrade so Aperture is now working as it did before. Incidentally when the "reprocessing" worked the greyed-out "Anit-Noise" in the "Raw Fine Tuning" brick was replaced by a slider called "De-Noise" although I never had the chance to find out how (or whether) it worked. andybarton Posted February 26, 2010 Share #3 Posted February 26, 2010 System updates are not "uninstallable" You will have to reinstall a vanilla system, then update it to the current version, WITHOUT the RAW update option checked in Software Update. Amagansetter Posted February 26, 2010 Author Share #5 Posted February 26, 2010 How do You uninstall Apple Raw Compatibility Upgrade 3.1. I have also some problems with it, but I couldn't find, where this RAW Upgrade is situated. We simply found it in the User Library, dragged it to the trash and then reinstalled the prior upgrade (3.0).
