jrethorst Posted February 25, 2010 Share #1 Posted February 25, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) From another thread: Just looking for a couple of Genuine batts within the UK, they cannot last forever. Over in the German digital forum, someone's looking for a battery for his DMR. They are apparently becoming hard to find. When my D2 batteries wear out, I keep them. The shape is specific for this and a few other cameras, but the cells themselves are generic, and you can send batteries to companies that will replace the cells. That said, it appears development is still being done on this specific shape. The original D2 battery was 1400 mah. The D3 battery, which works fine in the D2, is 1700 mah, and I just saw this shape of battery advertised with 1900 mah. So a charge would last about 30% longer. That would be nice. Maybe it's because I use program mode and autofocus, and you shouldn't let li-ion batteries discharge completely, but I seem to need to recharge batteries a lot. I also wanted to ask a question that the last thread talks about but apparently doesn't decide. If you happen to have four batteries, is it better to keep them all in use, rotating them, or use two in rotation and store the other two (in the fridge at 40% charge)? BatteryUniversity.com, a knowledgeable site, says, confusingly: • Avoid purchasing spare lithium-ion batteries for later use. • If you have a spare lithium-ion battery, use one to the fullest and keep the other cool by placing it in the refrigerator.
