toke Posted February 24, 2010 Share #1 Posted February 24, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) I haven't been following this forum for a while. Is there any solution to this problem yet? I know. Bright light just outside the frame....But it would be fantastic, to be able to shoot photos like this, without the green line.. Shot on M8 with 35 lux asph. without filter
Advertisement Posted February 24, 2010 Posted February 24, 2010 Hi toke, Take a look here green stripe/firmware solution?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
jaapv Posted February 24, 2010 Share #2 Posted February 24, 2010 Unfortunately no - and Leica has said repeatedly that a firmware solution is not possible. The only solution seems to be to buy an M9....
ho_co Posted February 25, 2010 Share #3 Posted February 25, 2010 See question 4.3 in M8 FAQ from Sept 2008, currently final item shown at Leica Camera AG - Downloads.
menos I M6 Posted February 25, 2010 Share #4 Posted February 25, 2010 Best solution for you is to frame wider and crop afterwards, if the light source fits unfortunately on your frame edge.
toke Posted February 25, 2010 Author Share #5 Posted February 25, 2010 thanx guess I'll just have to live with it.... But "very bright light sources"........this was a candle.....difficult to hide my disappointment...
wparsonsgisnet Posted February 25, 2010 Share #6 Posted February 25, 2010 I've had this happen 1 time in 3 years and 1,000's of pix. Fortunately, the pic in question was a throwaway. Unfortunately, I have to blame myself for 100's of images that are movement-blurred or out of focus -- many of which I would like to have been able to keep. My assistant! What a bum. Now, if I can get thru my commute without being involved in an accident, I have a date with a glass of red wine tonite. Regards,
mjh Posted February 25, 2010 Share #7 Posted February 25, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) guess I'll just have to live with it....But "very bright light sources"........this was a candle..... Very bright in relation to the overall level of lighting. A candle in bright daylight would be harmless, but not necessarily in a dimly lit room. Jeff S Posted February 26, 2010 Share #8 Posted February 26, 2010 Now, if I can get thru my commute without being involved in an accident, I have a date with a glass of red wine tonite. Was that wine or whine, Bill? :DIt's about time Boston got more snow than Baltimore this year. (80 inches so far, with past average about 18 inches) Now that you mention it, some red wine sounds nice. Cheers, Jeff
