Friends

I have a hair or something like a long dust waving in the center of my focus patch. (aprox. 4-6 mm, It appeared initially in the periphery of my viewer, and then disappeared, but Now it is back like an evil shadow puppet -- Smack dab in the middle of my focus patch.

Is there a quick trick to get it to fall away?, Or a secret vantage to perhaps blow it off, or a link to harmless top cap opening instructions, which can be field serviced, without much ado...

I thought of resting my electric Razor to the top cap, and running it on Ultra-sonic mode to perhaps shake it off.

Looking of a field trick, As the back-log at Leica USA NJ, is unacceptably long.

Thanks Much

Max

To remove the top of the camera:

1. Remove baseplate, battery, card.

2. Look for 5 screws securing the plastic inner baseplate, use a P000 screwdriver to remove them. Lift out the inner baseplate.

3. In the battery compartment, look for 3 screws at the top; use a long P00 screwdriver to remove the outermost one.

4. At the other end, look for the hole in the motor drive. Use the long P00 screwdriver to feel for and loosen the corresponding screw; this is captive, it will not come out.

5. Ease off the top, release the flex print by lifting the latches at either side and pull the flex print free.

You should work in a dust and static free environment and ground yourself to the chassis of your PC before touching the electronics.

I don't expect it to be radically different from what I found here:

I have followed your surgery there - it was a very, very interesting undergoing - thanks again for that.

Sometimes it is just a photo of an internal detail from another user from another angle, that answers all the questions ;-)

I remember me, looking for a good photograph of the vertical adjustment on recent Leica M bodies. There were a lot of them, describing and posting photos.

Just one did answer all my questions though, showing the adjustment mechanism in a different angle, than the others.
