Hi,

I read in this forum there's a cap where 2 lenses can be fixed, back to back, so to say. Could anybody give me the item number and the "official" Leica name? Are they still available as new, or only 2nd hand? Even more, is there a picture in the net of it? Sorry for so many questions, but it seems a good solution for saving space in the bag. I know, glueing 2 caps it can be made, but the real thing is better, for sure.

Thank you very much!

Manolo

I actually think glueing the two lens caps together is the best option for a couple of reasons. (I use two pairs done this way.)

I have had the Leica version for years and whilst I can no longer find the instructions which came with it, I do remember that you have to be careful coupling certain lenses, as it is possible for the rear elements on certain lenses to touch and possibly damage one.

The other reason I prefer the two glued is that the rear element of the remaining lens is still covered when you remove one of the lenses, whereas with the Leica one, if you remove one lens the remaining one has the rear element exposed.

Just my thoughts ..... hope they help.

They are in stock at Heavystar. 9.88 $ and you get a body cap as well for the price:

Two Sides Leica Rear Lens Cap + Body Cap for M Leica

I solved the problem of the rear element by using it on my apo-summicron 90 asph, which has a very deep rear mount. The body cap would solve the dust problem. :)
