tom in mpls Posted February 20, 2010 Share #1 Posted February 20, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) I am considering trying a diopter correction, which will mean pushing my glasses up on my forehead when shooting. It might work. So please help me calculate the correct correction. My right eye is a -3.00. Allowing for the built-in diopter correction on the M9, what should I be looking for? Advertisement Posted February 20, 2010 Posted February 20, 2010 Hi tom in mpls, Take a look here Diopter correction confusion. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
jaapv Posted February 20, 2010 Share #2 Posted February 20, 2010 Never calculate. Try it. Your optician has try-out lenses. Hold them between the viewfinder and your eye until you find the value that gives you the best and most relaxed view. Then order the diopter with the nearest value. Then sit down and wait.... I have -1.25 in my right eye and got the -1.0 dioptre and it worked out very well. I bought mine used so I took a chance that it would be close enough. I agree with Jaap that the correct way to would be try a few lenses in your local optician to be absolutely sure.
