Advertisement Posted February 20, 2010 Posted February 20, 2010 Hi likalar, Take a look here Commuter Trains Idling. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
pauledell Posted February 20, 2010 Share #2 Posted February 20, 2010 Larry, A great shot with nice composition, colors and sharpness. This sets off my imagination. It looks like mom and dad locomotives correcting you for some transgression. I have been watching too many horror movies lately, I guess. likalar Posted February 20, 2010 Author Share #6 Posted February 20, 2010 Gantlemen, thank you! No train expert, but yes, I believe the fleet is diesel, electric generator. These two cars are bicycle cars. The paint jobs, I'm told, are an attempt to reduce the number of accidents with walkers along the right-of-way. daveleo Posted February 20, 2010 Share #7 Posted February 20, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) Larry what's a bicycle car ?
likalar Posted February 21, 2010 Author Share #8 Posted February 21, 2010 Dave, These cars are specially equipped to carry bicycles. Reach the destination, retrieve the bike, and ride off to work......The idea has proved very popular, and the rail line is constantly pressured to add more such cars. lanetomlane Posted February 23, 2010 Share #9 Posted February 23, 2010 Great composition and colour; love the way in which the reds and yellows contrast. _______________________________ Regards, Tom Photography by Tom Lane
