Advertisement Posted December 14, 2006 Posted December 14, 2006 Hi robert_parker, Take a look here Street Musician . I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
John Maio Posted December 14, 2006 Share #2 Posted December 14, 2006 Quite a rope he has tied to that chamber pot, isn't it? A good photo in that it makes me stop and think about the circumstances surrounding what you've shown me.
martinop Posted December 14, 2006 Share #3 Posted December 14, 2006 Enjoyable subject matter & colors. Also intrigued about the size of that rope.
halmsen Posted December 14, 2006 Share #4 Posted December 14, 2006 VERY interesting details in ONE picture. For example: the barrel-organ....and not to forget: the musician. The "Merci-pot" makes smiling.
stuny Posted December 14, 2006 Share #5 Posted December 14, 2006 Robert - Very nice. I wonder if he is a war veteran, or if the decoration on his top is just decoration. I also wonder if this could be stronger cropped just above the leash law sign.
robert_parker Posted December 14, 2006 Author Share #6 Posted December 14, 2006 John, Paul, Alex and Stuart Thank you for your knid comments - cropping is an art unto itself - I went for the cross member of the rail, rather than lower, to retain the overall proportions of the picture but there really are a thousand pictures in every picture.... dkCambridgeshire Posted December 14, 2006 Share #8 Posted December 14, 2006 What would your opinion be about maybe making the background figures out of focus by use of a ND filter ( to give slow shutter speed at large aperture) thus isolating the musician from same and maybe creating some interesting out of focus highlights? abrewer Posted December 15, 2006 Share #11 Posted December 15, 2006 This keeps drawing me back. I had a look yesterday and a chuckle...now once more today. I suppose the rope is to keep the ship from sailing away! Thanks for sharing Robert. Allan
robert_parker Posted December 15, 2006 Author Share #12 Posted December 15, 2006 Alan At least it looks as if he's made it fast with a Bowline, so there is a touch of the nautical about it !!
